A weekend of great events

This past weekend Paul and I were privileged to go to Salt Lake, yes I said privileged because by going to Salt Lake we were able to spend time with five of our children and the most important is Josh, that we don't get a chance to see very much, especially Les. On Thursday night we met up with Brian's family for a dinner to celebrate the wedding of Derrek and Leslie. We met members of his family while enjoying good food. Saturday morning we met in the Salt Lake temple to witness the wedding and sealing of this beautiful couple. It is hard to imagine the kids all grown up and beginning families of their own. I know it has been a while since Cyrena has been able to see her cousins so I'm posting pictures of them for all the Oveson's that have missed this side of the Oveson clan. The wedding was beautiful as was the reception. Everything fit in with Leslie's personality.

On Saturday morning we all got together to help Mike, Kassy, and Josh move into their new home. At first it was doubtful that they would be able to move because their closing was pushed back. But even with the stress and confusion we began to move things into their new Riverton home by noon. Tara was the best with helping Josh pack up his toys and clothes into a box and then more importantly helping him to unpack and put away his things to make his room his. Josh has been a little bit traumatized by this whole experience. He loves having things organized and having to live for a week in a home that is partially boxed up has been hard on him. But he loves his new home and slept very well on Saturday night. They are officially in with all their things out of their old apartment. For pictures of their new home check out Kassy's blogspot. Also big news with Mike and Kassy, they found out on Thursday that their new baby is a boy. We are so excited. I guess Lexie will continue on being the only girl for a while. That is until Cyrena finds out. We are happy for them and as we all know boys are easier to raise than girls. Well for some of us, I'm sure Marty will disagree with this.

Paul and I do feel bad about not being able to help Nicholas and Danielle with their move to Wellington. We had plans of helping them on Saturday afternoon but because of a nail in my tire and having to fix it, caused us to get home to late. We are looking forward to seeing their new home tonight when we go over.

So for now the kids are settled and we are resting. I keep telling myself that I need to get busy on the house because I only have a couple more weeks until Chris, Cyrena and Bauer arrive for their visit. But then they are coming to see us, not the house. We are all getting very excited. So life is good, at least it is if we look for that. Oh, and Paul survived another talk yesterday in Sacrament meeting. He did a great job and the best is hopefully he will only have a few more months of speaking. See always look for the positive.

A day off

A have a day off from the schools and I use part of it to update my blog. Last night Cyrena called and we gave each other a bad time about not updating our blogs. But at least I have posted before she has. So now I'm up on her. I should be scrubbing down the bathroom and trying to get this house in better order before Cyrena's family comes for a visit in October but instead I'm sitting here at the computer and sometimes feel like I'm wasting time. I should also be in quilting on Leslie's (Brian and Pam's daughter) temple quilt. I need to have it off this week so I can have it finished before their wedding on the 19th. But then sometimes it feels like that is all I do is quilt. I do love it unless I'm pressured to get one finished, like I am now. Plus I need to get a baby quilt on for Sara. Yes, Sara it will be pink and black to match Charly's room. I have been stalking you on your blog. Sorry it will be a tricot blanket but the babies do love laying on them. Plus I think so do the Mom's.

Today is only the third day off I have had since school started. I'm not complaining though because it will only give me a bigger check to spend in San Diego. I know that I will be working again for the next two weeks. I have to schedule a day off just like a regular job. Sometimes I think it is a little funny. But one day I won't be doing this and I know that I will look back with very fond memories. Last Thursday I covered for Neal Peacock's drama classes. He had us play a game called "Make Me Laugh". The kids had to sit in a chair while the rest of the class, one on one would do something to make you laugh. It is to get the kids to keep a straight face in times of humor. It is so good to laugh. I had tears running down my cheeks for three class periods. How well I remember being on stage and having problems controlling those moments of laughter. It is days like this that I love being in the classroom.

Yesterday we had Danielle and the kids over for dinner. It has been awhile since she has been here and we loved every minute of it. The kids are growing, but it isn't like we haven't seen them for awhile. We took them to dinner last Thursday. But it has been over a week since they have been here. We also took them for a walk down to Grandma's to get a cookie and to show Danielle the new pigs that Marty bought Grandma. The kids love to play with them. As I was talking to Cyrena about the pigs I think she thought that they were real. Kyler has named the little baby pigs, Wilburn, Peter Pan, and Tinkerbell. I guess you can tell what his favorite movies are at the moment. I thought that you would enjoy a picture of them.
